Spanish Master Class
The ECAM – Madrid Audiovisual and Cinema Arts School – is an educational institution in Madrid that specialises in the development of the Spanish Film Industry and provides students with high-quality training for a variety of filmmaking and audiovisual disciplines.
Throughout ECAM’s eleven years of teaching, it has produced an outstanding level
of graduates who have launched the institution’s reputation worldwide, with over 90% moving into Spain’s television and film industry. With the support of Technical Director,
Mario Pérez, JVC has supplied a range of equipment to the school over the years – including D9 cameras, VCRs, D-ILA projectors and numerous monitors – but the most recent order
is for three GY-HD251 camcorders with DR-HD80 HDD recorders.
“The robustness and reliability of the JVC cameras is well known throughout the industry,” Pérez states, “but in a media school in which students are handling the equipment on
a daily basis, ‘incident-free’ operation is mandatory. The JVC products perfectly meet these requirements.”
ECAM’s photography students are also working with JVC’s GY-HD251 cameras. “We edit our footage with both Avid Media Composer and Final Cut Pro,” Pérez continues. “At the
beginning we had some difficulties with compatibility, but this was instantly solved by our reseller, INGEVIDEO, and also by JVC directly. The cameras are ideal for our students’
workflow.”
The ECAM was awarded in 2008 with the Prize of Excellence of Madrid, and has a close relationship with the Spanish film industry.
